The fourth student exchange within the project YES for Future took place in Spain 6-10 February with the participation of six students and two or three accompanying teachers from each partners. Prior to the exchange programme students had been working on the business idea and had experienced what it is like to run a company. Each team had finalised their business idea and created an e-portfolio including all the documents. During the project meeting students presented the portfolios to each other and discussed their experiences relating to the world of business. Students also took part in business English workshop, where they needed to analyze and evaluate job interviews scripted and recorded by their peers. They also participating in problem solving workshops, where they had to find creative solutions to business-related problems working in teams of mixed nationalities.
During the exchange the participants visited a local institution that assists young enterpreneurs and took part in a discussion with professionals and were presented good business examples.
During the meeting the participating students gave presentations on their schools, towns and countries and got acquainted with the various project activities the Spanish partner school has taken part in.
All students stayed with Spanish families and attended lessons with their Spanish peers, so they got an insight into Spanish educational system, culture, language and cuisine. During the final evening each team presented some national traditional games, songs and / or dances and taught them to their partners.
Social programmes of the visit were as important, or even more important than the professional ones because these were organised by the host students themselves. They worked outstandingly as a team. They took charge of all tasks of organising, conducting and closing all activities from preparation of materials through giving instructions to cleaning the premises. They proved their good planning, communication and colaboration skills.
All in all it was an inspiring, informative, properly organised and enjoyable learning experience for both students and teachers.
Events and experiences of the week have been published in the project blog, the local newspaper, on the school website and will be part of the student portfolios.
